Venture Goes Underground to Support Major Downtown Pittsburgh Project

Warrendale, PA (June 7, 2023) – Venture Engineering & Construction, Inc. (“Venture”) employee, Jeremy Barton, was featured on the front page of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette in the Sunday, June 4th edition of the paper. Barton, a Mechanical Engineer at Venture, was seen inspecting steam pipes in a lower level of the Kimpton Hotel Monaco on William Penn Place in Downtown Pittsburgh. Cordia Energy (formerly Clearway) is expanding its reach underground by laying new steam pipelines and taking over some of the district steam network that’s being transferred from Pittsburgh Allegheny County Thermal.

Venture’s primary involvement is to provide Construction Management services and Safety oversight for the project. Venture is watching over the project, ensuring that the contractors are performing the work per the drawings and helping with issues that arise during construction while following safety procedures and executing the work in a safe manor. Venture coordinates with the buildings affected by the ongoing work and communicates with the contractors to maintain schedule. Venture also coordinates with Cordia on status and with scheduling the transition as portions are completed and ready for service. Additionally, Venture provided the engineering and design for the downtown portion of the project.
